Installation Guide

Download the .dmg (or .zip) file above. Pick the build for your Mac: Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel. Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac: a Chip line that says Apple M… means Apple Silicon; a Processor line that says Intel means Intel. The Intel build also runs on Apple Silicon through Rosetta, which macOS offers to install on first launch.

Open the .dmg and drag Device Farm Connector into your Applications folder. (For a .zip, double-click to extract, then drag the app into Applications.)

Open Device Farm Connector from Applications.

⚠️ First launch: this build is not notarized by Apple, so macOS blocks the first open. Which steps work depends on your macOS version:

macOS 15 (Sequoia) and newer: open the app once and click Done on the “Apple could not verify…” message. Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, click Open Anyway, and confirm with your password or Touch ID. (Control-click → Open no longer works on these versions.)

macOS 13 and 14: Control-click the app in Applications, choose Open, then click Open again.

Still blocked, or macOS says the app is “damaged”? Clear the download flag in Terminal, then open the app again:

            xattr -cr "/Applications/Device Farm Connector.app"
          

If it still will not open, also run:

            codesign --force --deep --sign - "/Applications/Device Farm Connector.app"
          

This is expected for apps without Apple code-signing and notarization; a signed release will remove the step.

Plug in your Android phone via USB and tap Allow on the phone when prompted for USB debugging.

Enter the pairing code from your Laxmi AI dashboard and you're connected.

Download and run the .exe installer above. It needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 (Windows on ARM runs it as well) and installs for your user only, so no administrator password is asked.

Follow the installation wizard (defaults are fine).

⚠️ SmartScreen warning: Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info and then Run anyway. This is expected for unsigned apps. We're working on code signing for a future release.

Launch the app from your Start Menu or desktop shortcut.

Plug in your Android phone via USB and tap Allow on the phone when prompted for USB debugging.

Enter the pairing code from your Laxmi AI dashboard and you're connected.

Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Pop!_OS: install the .deb. It installs the USB rule phones need, the AppArmor profile Ubuntu 24.04+ requires, and upgrades an older Connector in place. Then start Device Farm Connector from your app menu.

Other distributions (Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, …): download the .AppImage, make it executable and run it. No extra packages are needed: it uses the FUSE 3 helper every current distribution ships. On a system without FUSE, run it with --appimage-extract-and-run.

On Ubuntu 24.04 and later the AppImage starts without Chromium's sandbox, because those releases block the user namespaces it needs, and it says so in the terminal. Install the .deb there to keep the sandbox.

AppImage users only: if your phone shows no permissions, install the USB rule the .deb would have added, then unplug and replug the phone:
